For the last ABROADcast for what may be forever, we decided to turn our whole concept on its head. Instead of us foreigners talking about Swedes in their natural habitat, this final episode is about why Swedes go abroad and what they do while they are away from home. Whether they go abroad for love, for money, for education, or just to see the world, Swedes can be found everywhere doing all kinds of cool stuff. We attempt to define the concept of Scandinavia, looking at the relationships between these countries. We look at both the things they have in common and the things that set them apart. If so, join us on this epic journey during which we’ll discuss all the do’s, don’ts, taboos and social norms you’ll want to know before meeting your Swedish in-laws! Oh, and we’ll also teach you some Swedish swearwords, in case the meeting doesn’t go that well.
Food is important, even in Sweden. That is why ABROADcast decided to discuss different types of Swedish eatibles, everything from the hearty potato to the delicious blood pudding. We even got a celebrity chef all the way from the USA to do a little down home cooking right in our studio! Consumption of food and drink is highly encouraged during this show.
